Bishop Sedgwick Daniels | STANDING AGAINST ODDS | Great Leadership

Bishop Sedgwick Daniels is one of the best Bishops and praisers that the Church of God in Christ has, his life is really impressive. Not only is his bio amazing but what he has done in the community, its really a wow factor!

Being a part of the COGIC since I was a little boy, I have had such aspirations to become a bishop one day…. That day seems to have faded away lol. How I admire only a few leaders and, by far, other than the Late Bishop G.E. Patterson and the late Bishop L.H. Ford, Bishop Sedgwick Daniels, a General Board member of the Church of God In Christ, is one of the most extraordinary bishops that I have ever seen in my lifetime.
Bishop Sedgwick has been committed to community and the people; his service to education is amazing because education is key and education is power. Education is something that lacks in the black community as a whole. Just a few years ago, I heard about him opening up a high school and I was very ecstatic. I remember attending the COGIC April call meeting a few years ago and him announcing about his high school. Yes, I did say his high school! This is something that was in his vision. Also, I was made aware of the health clinic and the health resources that are on his church campus. The Church campus houses a nursing home for the elderly, a health clinic, a high school and an apartment complex, just to name a few things.
I am excited for Bishop Daniels. He is a person for the people; he is a person that is, to my knowledge and understanding as well as to what I have seen, reaching out to the people and the young people the next generation as well. While he is reaching, I must say I haven’t heard him speak ill of anyone no matter their race, religion, creed, sexual preference or anything. If a leader can Lead and care about the total man and not just their outer that my dears and sirs is amazing to me. I guess you can consider this favoritism but I'm super excited to know that while I was apart of the Church of God in Christ that there is a leader that is concerned about not only the people and their spiritual being but their education as well.
I believe as a lay member if I can see where my money is going to and it is going to something that is beneficial I am at a place where I am willing to give and sow into the ministry. I think a lot of preachers don't get that part, they're just more concerned about making sure that your pockets are lined and that they have nice homes and nice car. Some preachers feel that because they preached to you and have labored in giving you a Word, you should be more excited about giving them an offering. With that being said, I have read all of the many accomplishments and groundbreaking moves that Bishop Daniels has made and I am really excited about this man. Yes, I can say this because I've seen it with my own eyes and yes he lives in a wonderful home and drives really nice cars but this man is also part owner of a basketball team, let me clarify that, a national basketball team and he owns several franchises and I do mean national franchise is like “McDonald's”. With him being owner of several franchises he has given a lot of people the opportunity to work as I have a place of employment.

With an array accomplishments that qualifies a great man and a leader! I would not conclude that he is doing these things to be looked at as important but rather to leave a legacy and to instill in the next generation that working hard and staying focused is what matters the most!

It was just two years after I was born that Bishop Daniels started this awesome work.

Nike (pronounced nee-kay) is a greek word meaning victory, to overcome, to take authority over. At Niké House, we believe that youth and young adults can be victorious in every area of life.

Mission:

The Holy Redeemer Youth Ministry is a ministry on a mission to inspire, empower, and cultivate a generation of young people who are spiritually enriched, physically equipped, and mentally prepared to be catalysts for change in the Kingdom and the community. We are committed to discovering what influences the way our youth and young people think, which determines what they become, which results in what they will do. Our aim is to encourage our youth to allow God’s Word to be their number one influence so that they can discover and then do God’s will.
